2 Days Gorillas from Kigali
The shortest way to the gorillas: over the border from Kigali to Bwindi, one night by the forest, the trek, and back.
If you are already in Rwanda and have two days, this is it. Bwindi’s southern sector is closer to Kigali than to Kampala, so the drive is a morning, not a day. It is a full two days — but the hour with the gorillas is the same hour anyone gets.

Kigali to Bwindi
We collect you from the airport or your hotel in Kigali and drive north through Rwanda’s hills, across the border and up into the far south-west of Uganda. Dinner at the lodge, with the forest in front of you.

Gorilla trekking, and back to Kigali
An early breakfast and the briefing at the park. You walk into the forest with a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger and the trackers — anything from two to six hours, depending on where the family slept — and spend one hour with them. Then the drive back through the terraced hills to Kigali, to your hotel or the airport.

About the gorilla permit
The permit is included in the price and bought in your name from the Uganda Wildlife Authority — currently USD 800 each for foreign non-residents, less in April, May and November. We pass it through at cost and send you the reference number so you can see it is real.
UWA takes full payment when the permit is booked and does not hold them, so a trek is only confirmed once the permit is paid. How permits work →
