3 Days Kigali & the Volcanoes Gorillas
A day in Kigali, including the Genocide Memorial, then the volcanoes of the Virunga and a gorilla family in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park.
For people flying into Kigali who want to stay in Rwanda. Volcanoes National Park is the Rwandan side of the Virunga massif — the same mountain gorillas that live in our own Mgahinga, across the border. A Rwandan gorilla permit costs considerably more than a Ugandan one; if budget matters, our trips from Kigali into Bwindi are the better value.

About the gorilla permit
The permit is included in the price and bought in your name from the Uganda Wildlife Authority — currently USD 800 each for foreign non-residents, less in April, May and November. We pass it through at cost and send you the reference number so you can see it is real.
UWA takes full payment when the permit is booked and does not hold them, so a trek is only confirmed once the permit is paid. How permits work →
